Kia Ora E Te Whānau,

We are a bunch of youth workers based in Auckland, Aotearoa (New Zealand), who walk alongside and journey with young people.

Launching Rockets is an idea birthed from a story we have heard often - a young person wants to get a part-time job and they don’t get offered the job due to a lack of work experience.

As youth workers, we asked ourselves: can we do something about this?

We started dreaming and the word social enterprise was starting to get popular - so we jumped on this waka and started asking, what are our assets?

We had an idea.
We have amazing young people.
We met over many coffees with great people who have done this before.
We decided to sit under a Trust - thank you, Third Space.
We had to get a proof of address (long story).
We got a website.
After jumping so many hoops, here we are!

Now we have Cards for Humanity, the first project for Launching Rockets. Cards for Humanity is specifically targeting young people who love art and are super creative and talented.

Every time you buy one of our products, you are investing into a young person’s work experience, on-going youth work, and future social enterprises we can dream up.

Shopping with us, you are part of a village raising children - you are part of our story to raise young people to be the best versions of themselves.

Launching Rockets is about creating the launch pad adding work experience to a young person’s CV.

Cards for Humanity is the first of many projects from Launching Rockets. We are dreaming up more projects for the future!
